WHY DO WE HOLD A JOB GROWTH STARTUP EUROPE AWARDS?
Many EU Member States have suffered of high unemployment rates. One of the main priorities for the European Commission is job, growth and investment. That is why the Investment Plan for Europe was adopted in November 2014 focusing on creating jobs and boosting growth by making smarter use of financial resources, removing obstacles to investment and providing visibility and technical assistance to investment projects.
In addition, The Commission has recognised the contribution of small and medium-sized enterprises to economic development and labour markets in the EU, and it supports SMEs through a variety of policies and instruments such as the resolution of the European Parliament issued in 2016 on how best to support the job creation potential of SMEs.
